Extending my Schools Wireless?

My school is being lazy and cheap (UQ) and not extending the wireless network to where i normally work. I would like to do the job for them. As there is a wired internet connect that i can plug into my computer and then i can use connectify to broadcast the connection.

I have a spare laptop i can donate to the cause the only issue is that doing this sets the internet as logged into me for all users, and as my quota is quite limited it is not a sustainable option.

You see my school uses a webpage based security to log into the web. What i want to know is if i can use connectify or another program to let my pc run as a wifi router where people will have to log into their own internet accounts to use the connection.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Note: The spare laptop is a netbook running windows XP.

All laptop contains a network card, it cant be used as another router. But there is much better solution to your problem, just get a switch and another access point. Its not too expensive too.

You will use the switch as a HUB, contains at least 4-ports, 1 as an input from the original router, and 3 port outputs.

You can use one of these output ports to connect to an access point, an access is just a wireless extender device, so it extendes the signal at a wider range and voila, Your done :)
