when you used to travel to Grandma's house in another state, did you love to see the Nickerson Farms?

Restaurant in the distance? and wasn't the other one Stuckey's Restaurant? i just loved to see them and i always wished we could go in. i asked my dad a lot and so we went in once. but, our big places, were Salina, KS truck stop, and Wakini, Kansas truck stops. they are all re-built and gone now. but, they were open all night long and it was fun to listen to people talk in those two places once a year. bq=what are your favorite restaurants while you are traveling?

Unfortunately i never got to do that with my Grandparents as they lived in Puerto Rico so it was no wast car ride. But when i would visit my late Grandfather did take me to some very good Restaurants in the Island where the food there to me tasted more good & more natural than the good here in the states. Hope u have a good weekend hugs.

I grew up in PA and my grandmother lived in New York City. Sometimes we took the train with Pullman Cars. I remember the white uniformed porters and Grand Central Station. We ate in the dining car. When we drove, I only knew the Howard Johnson Restaurants on the PA turnpike rest stops. I remember the stink of oil along the New Jersey Turnpike, and then driving over the George Washington Bridge.

Never heard of Nickerson Farms and never saw a Stuckey's until maybe a decade ago when we went south. Now when I travel, I head for Sheetz for gas and a custom sandwich.

My mothers' mothers and fathers have been the only grandparents' who lived as a pair in our kin. and that i replaced into very on the brink of that grandma because of the fact whilst i replaced into little, I observed her so frequently. She lived purely a block and a a million/2 away. And my mom might take me to pass to approximately as quickly as a week. I remember learning to holiday my first little motorbike to her abode, and by using the time we arrived, I knew a thank you to survive with out falling off. there replaced into no longer something tangible at my grandparents abode that I well-liked, however the memories nevertheless linger whilst i think of of the super aromas' their abode's contained. My grandpa consistently used previous Spice shaving cleansing soap and cologne. And whilst he might pop out after shaving, it replaced into so heavenly. like the caricature characters that waft on the waves of an aroma, i might like to inhale that heady fragrance. So did my mom, from what she advised me. The kitchen consistently smelled of goodies baking. My grand- ma replaced into an excellant German cook dinner. and he or she enjoyed no longer something greater effective than to make some turn overs crammed with sliced apples and cinnamon, to grant out a take care of whilst we'd come to spend an hour or greater out of an afternoon. And whilst they offered yet another farm later in existence, an identical issues utilized to their farmhouse. And there replaced into greater area to have enterprise for dinner. we'd consistently arrive to the scent of a few- difficulty delicious in the oven cooking for the dinner she replaced into making waiting. no one ever left her abode desiring some thing to devour. We have been satisfied human beings whilst we arrived and ecstatic whilst we'd go away LOL. i don't comprehend what it replaced into with regard to the places the place my grandparents' lived. however the 2d you walked in, you particularly felt the affection interior. and that's some thing i even have neglected over the years. They have been 2 candy- hearts who nevertheless stay a factor of our lives, for the few persons that stay and head the kin now.
