Can I replace the end of a headphone jack?
Hi, I bought a nice pair of Sennheiser headphones a couple of months ago and the sound keeps coming in and out. Sometimes you hear sound in one headphone and not the other. It seems the wire going into the jack isn't connected properly.
Can I just go to Radio Shack and buy a replacement jack and splice it together? Obviously I don't know a lot about this but I do have a soldering iron and can wire a lamp. I just don't know much about headphone wires.
Thanks in advance,
Fladabosco

Yes you can. But believe me, you wont be happy with your work. Cause the connection will not be like the company product and after a while your connection will begin to show faults. So try to buy a new one. But do your research before you buy one. Don't waste money on low quality headphones. See public opinions and reviews.

Yep. No problem. There are only two wires you'll need to solder/connect. Just make sure to place the wires correctly so you still get the correct left/right signal.
