Avoid Disney World parks on the days with 'extra magic hours'?

We are visiting Orlando in a little over a week here in March. Our schedule is pretty much set except for Saturday and Sunday. We were originally thinking of going to Hollywood Studios on Saturday (10th) and Magic Kingdom on Sunday (11th). However, I just checked and both those parks are having 'extra magic hours' on the days we planned. We are not staying at a Disney property so we wouldn't be able to take advantage of the hours anyway. We are taking our 4 year old son and infant in a stroller.

Given all that, are we better off going to the parks when the extra magic hours are not offered? We want to obviously go when the lines will be the shortest and least crowded. Or because it is the weekend will it just be so busy that the extra magic hours won't matter?

Generally, the parks are a bit more crowded on Extra Magic Hour days. I've found that when they have the extra hours in the morning, the early crowds are larger. When they have the extra hours in the evening, the later crowds are larger. It's not usually crazy and packed, but it's still busier on those days than on others.

One tip that I've found to be true is to try visiting a park on the day AFTER it held Extra Magic Hours. Many of the on-site people will have visited on the EMH day, and so it might be less crowded the following day. I've often found that to be the case.

many times each and every time I plan the days i bypass to the park, I usually decide for the days a park opens at 8 and not 9. i do in no way do the overdue greater magic hours, I do the early one's the place the park opens at 8. the gang seems to be slightly greater effective while the greater magic hours are interior the morning. even though it quite does not count number with the Magic Kingdom on the grounds that park continually seems to be packed

    Sounds Fun!

Your plan can still be in plan! "Extra Magic Hours" are when you can stay at the park later at night. You have a 4 year old with you so I'm sure you will no want to stay later into the night with him and after a busy day.

The lines at the parks will be longer then if you went on a weekday but I think you will be fine because this is the off season for Walt Disney World.

The lines will actually be shorter on these days because the people that car take advantage of the extended hours will. They will come in later and stay longer.

You only have a few days. Standing in line is inevitable and impossible to avoid. Go and have a good time and don't stress out over which day this or which day that. Just go and enjoy yourself.
