Of course they are. They're trying to make gas prices a political issue they can hang around Obama's neck (even though he has no control), so they are driving up prices by speculating. Koch industries employees have admitting to doing this.

Evidently you don't understand what is happening in the area. We have war ships in the Strait of Hormuz. There are now very severe sanctions against Iran by many countries who have joined us in the effort to try to keep Iran from getting nukes because they too see this as unacceptable. Iran is the biggest sponsor of terror in the world. There are covert activities going on such as murdering their scientists and sending viruses to their computer systems. Iran would not permit the UN appointed people to inspect one of their nuclear sites. Several European countries are going to stop purchasing their oil and Iran has already stopped selling oil to two of them. We virtually are already at war with them without yet firing a shot. Achmed is still threatening Israel and the US. Obama is well aware that these people can not have nuclear weapons and has stated more than once that nothing is off the table. Israel said if nothing changes, they will attack Iran in the spring without giving us any warning. It amazed me what Hillary said knowing this.

So you are saying that what Israel said about attacking them in a couple of months has less effect on oil speculation than Republicans saying they can't let Iran get nukes even though none of them would become president until January 2013? Or are you saying Iranians can't hear what Israel says but only what the Republican candidates are saying might happen in 10 months if one of them actually becomes president? I don't think Iran or the speculators are imminently concerned about what the Republican candidates are saying.

The GOP isn't the ones making the threats. And the only people that are intent on raising the price of fuel is the administration. Think the DNC might be getting money under the table?
