gfci in bathroom in house with no grounds.?

I am installing a GFCI outlet in a bathroom of a house with no grounds. Is it ok to run a ground wire and bond it to a water pipe?

a ground in a bathroom is pointless anyway and especially if your installing a GFI outlet. what are you plugging in that will need a ground so bad? your TV? your microwave? what's using that ground prong? even by code you shouldn't bother with a ground so dont waste your time. but yes, typically a water pipe ground is the best ground you can have in a house. as long as no one added non copper pipe somewhere to break continuity.

You do not actually need a ground for the GFCI to work. But you can bond it to a cold water pipe (if it is metal ). The hot pipes might have a dielectric union at the hot water tank so either check or do not tie to the hot pipe.
