Do you really need to go to college to be anything in life?
I'm so freaking stressed out right now. My mom told me if I don't go to college, I'll turn out to be a "zero". I'm thinking she's just saying that because she dropped out herself. Hell, my dad didn't even finish high school and he makes 600+ a week. I don't feel college is right for me. I've tried, and I've failed. Community college. Is it really pass college or be nothing? I thought college was *optional*. And I'll never pass anyway.
When she said that, I thought well maybe I don't deserve to live if I'm going to turn out to be nothing.. :/ *sigh*

If you're not going on to have a professional degree (medical field, etc), then you don't necessarily NEED to, but workplaces will always choose someone with a degree over someone without. Don't have such a negative outlook! My friends dad got a BS in engineering at community college and he makes six figures working for the government. Sometimes basic education from community college will bring you far. Work hard and try to get through at least a 2 year degree--you should definitely talk to a counselor about your future.

DON"T END IT ALL!!!
You are a unique and special creation Created in GOD'S image. With or without college.:-) your mom is just looking out for you but she COULD be a litter more motivational
The us department of labor and statistics have a graph, chart, whatever u call it about something called the "45 year plan"
if you start the workforce after you get a 6 year degree you'll be approx 25.
you will peak in that profession at 40 and continue working till 70 and then retire at about 2/3 of your income. Doesn't sound fun at all...especially the 30 years of being stagnate.
so basically you cannot really "grow" in your profession.
I can tell you this..i went to trade school for hvac/r trade.i started my own business. I am now on a new venture as well.
my 1st business i work my tail off to make ends meet. but i make good money when i'm working.
if i don't work ...i don't get paid.
my new business is going to allow me to leverage my time and DUPLICATE myself and create a residual income that will pay me while i'm fishing.;-)
I could tell you more....but that would be against the rules.
if you want to know more and i would be glad to tell you.....reply with contact info.
good luck and GOD BLESS!

A four year apprenticeship in some decent licensed trade is a good alternative to college.
