Simplifying radicals?

My answer is -2 (plus or minus) 2 sqrt5 / -2 and the answer is supposed to be 1 (plus or minus) sqrt 5. I don't understand how to simplify this. Can anyone help? I have attached a picture of the question using symbols because it's a little confusing above.

    Your answer:

    (-2 +- 2*(sqrt5)) / -2

    Just cancel the -2

(the first -2 on the top cancels directly. The second appears positive, but remember there's a +-)

    1 +- sqrt(5) <<<

factor a 2 out of the top of the fraction so you are left with 2*(1 +- sqrt(5)). and then the two on top and the two on bottom cancel! you are left with your answer.
