How to achieve a misty look?
I am trying to paint a figure coming out of the mist in Acrylics but I am struggling.
Can you tell me the best way to do it. Thank you. H
Sorry but it was supposed to go into the Painting category which I have now rectified. Thank for bringing it to my attention. Cheers. H

This is the photography section, honest mistake I'm sure :)
I'm not a great painter, but I think you could do it a couple ways:
1. A figure in fog is basically the same figure as you would normally paint with lack of contrast and muted features. You can achieve that look in painting your figure by mixing your pigments with a grey or white base.
2. If let's say you wanted the figure half in the fog, and half out, you could paint the figure as you normally would, and use a large fan brush to subtly dab over with white or grey, then lightly brush back and forth to blend if needed (as Bob Ross would in his scenic paintings).
Hope this helps
