My e mail was hacked....what do I do now?
OK, so my Yahoo email was hacked into. Whoever did it, sent an email to all of my contacts asking for money. They also removed all of my previous emails and cleaned out by address book.
Has this happened to you? What do I do now?

First, change your password! Then, restore your addresses from your backup. If you don't have a backup anywhere, contact a friend. Ask him to send you an email you've sent him that has some addresses of your other friends on it. Use those to build up your address book again. Be sure to let everyone know you've been hacked, so they don't fall for the asking for money thing. Ask people to email you their addresses, too.

Before you do anything run a couple virus removal programs (AVG, AVAST, Malware are free). Then change your password and rebuild your address book as others suggested. Hope this helps..
