african cichlids from walmart?
i purchased 5 african cichlids from walmart. the tag said assorted, but now i am trying to figure out what breeds they are so i can sex them. anybody have any clue what breeds walmart sells?

You have a reason to be confused by the term WalMart tags these fish with. When you buy a package of assorted fruit, you are going to get a real ssortment, maybe a couple apples, a couple oranges, a couple pears.
Each individual cichlid at WalMart is an assortment. A fish that looks sort of like a Lions Cove yellow labido is instead a mixture. It had ancestors who were peacock cichlids, zebra cichlids, Melanochromis, or any combination of other possibilities. Even fish that look just like one parent or the other still carry unseen the genes of the second parent.
You can take photos of them, store them online at a place like Photobucket, and then post questions about them on an ID forum, but it's understood though not stated very often that all you can discuss is what species it looks like, not its actual heritage.
