Yes, the older style mechanical drive speedometers can be repaired/rebuilt. Modern electronic/digital units are a bit more complicated, but I'm sure someone out there knows how to fix them. Pick up a local phone book and look for auto instrument repairs.

I my area (Detroit and michigan) there ares several speedometer shop[s. Depending upon what car you have, you can send your speedometer to a factory where they will remake the thing. Expect to spend at least $100 for this issue! WHAT KIND OF CAR IS THIS???? This is one area whre older German cars have problems. VDO speedometers seem to get stuck around 150,000 miles or so. SO do many other speedo's GOOD LUCK!! Perhpas you should have your speedo cable looked at. Many times it is this or an engine or trans sensors that is preventing your speedometer from working. It depens upon car type, year, and car maker. GOOD LUCK!
