Motorcycle cleaning tips - aluminum?
I just purchased an older model motorcycle. The chrome is in great shape but the aluminium parts - transmission case covers, engine cooling fins etc. are showing their age. Is there an easy way to restore their look without a tear-down and professional shop refinishing?

I'm in the proses now. You need to degrees and power wash what you are going to restore. I used a product called Goof Off it's water-based safe on plastic works great. Let it dry a couple of days it'll look chalky, just brush with a brass wire brush a small one. If you have a compressor blow it off. Then tape off what you don't want to get paint on, it can get tedious but worth it. The paint to use is Dupli Color engine enamel gray primer #DE1612, and finish #DE1650 cast coat aluminum, good to 500 degrees, it's ceramic and won't run. Looks like new. Good luck
