Theists only, please; why do you object so strongly when your religion gets called mythology?
So many theists seem to object to the label "mythology" when applied to their own religion, yet have no problem applying it to the ancient greek, egyptian, norse, or asian religions. How much difference is there, really? You both have all sorts of rather fantastic stories about your god(s) and their prophets which, let's face it, are pretty much certainly exaggerated which are collected into a coherent idea. Neither of you has more evidence than the other, so how are their beliefs amusing fairytales while yours are serious and well-founded ideologies to spread the truth?
If you want examples of said exaggerations, take a look at Jonah and the whale, the great flood, Moses talking to god through a BUSH, and moses getting the ten commandments from god. You know what most people could do in that time? Most people could actually carve their own tablets in the amount of time he spent up there! (Sorry this is all judeo-christian/islam related stuff, but I don't know much about other religions) Are those likely to be really factual?

Wait... do you want a preach on Christianity or an answer to your question?
We object to our religion being refered to as mythology because a myth is (by definition) something that isnt true. We believe our religion is true, therefore, others callling it a myth is degrading. Rather like saying Athiests are more important than Theists. If there were a group of people saying that the greek gods are real, I wouldnt insult them by calling it a myth.
If you are going to insult us, dont disguise the question... Give us a balanced argument and not a rant.
AKA grow up.

@PaulCyp: Seriously? The Ancient Greeks regularly claimed to have communication with their gods. They even had specific places they'd go to talk to a priestess (an oracle) who would then communicate with the gods and bring back an answer. The Oracle at Delphi being the most famous one. Many Hindus claim to have communicated with their gods. Buddha was visited by Saman, tempted by the devil, etc etc.
Every religion has claims to communication with their higher powers, and many followers of those religions claim to feel the presence of their gods (or claim to have had sexual intercourse with them, something the greeks claimed rather constantly). Your experience is in no way unique or specific to your religion.

As a Christian who lives with a practicing witch, I respect people who believe in other things. I may find this foolishness or worse but at least I am respectful.
That is the difference between calling someone's religion a myth.

Find me some people who claim to know any other god personally, and to live in daily relationship with that God. Then we'll talk.
