Bladder problems at 26?
Well, I'm no stranger to bladder and bowel issues, as I suffer from IBS and have had multiple lower colon scopes done. As a teenager I had an issue accidentally had my urethra nicked during a routine pap smear, ( Dr didn't really explain what he was doing, and I was suprised when he went in for a swab), leaving scar tissue, which in turn left me in an odd predicament of not having a straight urine stream, meaning if I don't wedge TP between my legs when I pee, it will spray everywhere. It caused me to have a bit of shy bladder and I would hold my pee way too long during the day, if I wasn't home. Now my bladder holds too much, and I find it hard to start peeing, sometimes I have to massage my bladder, and then I finish too early and have to sit 5-7 mins to wait for more pee, if I get up too soon to wash my hands etc, I almost pee myself and immediately have to sit back down. I plan to go see a different utologist as the last one didn't really help, ge tried to widen my urethra, which stretched right back. Just wondering, aside from the odd pap smear I had, if anyone else has problems urinating like that? And what they can do to fix it?

I suspect that the bladder issues are resolvable. I also think that the spraying issue can be fixed with some positional explorations would suggest the tub as good place to experiment without worrying about urine going someplace you do not want it to. Obviously you are aware that any puling and pressure applied ot your vulva or labia will alter to a degree your urine flow. You Will have to try any and every idea you can come up with whether it is pressing down, up pulling to one side or another , parting the labia, leaning back or forward etc. However, I do think with a little exploration a system of making sure your urine flow is controlled will remove a lot of worry and tension that aggravates the situation. In the mean time there is a type of decorative non-piercing jewelry you might try (link below) this would keep your labia together and prevent spraying until you find a new system that works for you - again just something to take a pressure off and encourage you to urinate frequently and overcome the habit that has developed.
Last i do encourage you to see a uro-gynecologist This is a fairly new specialty and they do wonders with such things (see second link below)9
