What is an old tradition you wish was still relevant today?

Yes I wish when people make a promise they would keep it. I wish a handshake and your word was still a binding contract. I wish when people say......I love you......it would mean something. I wish people would go to church and actually be the Christians They pretend to be. I wish every kid had a dog at some point on their Life. I wish people would laugh. I heard someone laugh the other day and I couldn't remember the last time I had heard laughter. I wish men would whistle. ...not vulgar whistling but pretty whistling. I wish people still wrote letters. .....in their own hand writing and mailed them in pretty cards. I wish kids had nothing better to do on a warm summer day but lay in the grass and look at clouds and try to guess what the shapes looked like. I wish kids still had kites. I wish more churches had church socials or ice cream socials. I wish people gathered around a dinner table and someone asked how your day was........and maybe they even cared how the day was.

There's an old tradition called MARRIAGE that I wish was much more practiced today, especially before single people start having children without having the resources to raise them properly. Children raised in single homes are much more likely to suffer psychological damage from not having both a father and mother in their lives.

I agree with an earlier post about marriage, but that's not about some Biblical morality. I have no moral hang-ups about people living together for whatever reasons, and frankly I feel people SHOULD live together before they get married. But NOT before they have children.

Children in general thrive and survive better in a 2-parent environment. Not in every case, just in most of them.
