no people are skeptical because iran got caught violating article 3 of the NPT. they could start by complying with the IAEA, the 6 UN security council resolutions iran is violating. quit violating the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty, and stop violating the safeguard agreement iran signed with the IAEA. iran has violated this twice 2003 natanz and 2009 qom

    Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty

    http://www.un.org/disarmament/WMD/Nuclear/pdf/NPTE...

this treaty was designed to stop the flow of nuclear weapons while still allowing for the peaceful transfer of nuclear power technology (nuclear reactors)

countries that have signed and ratified the NPT

    http://unhq-appspub-01.un.org/UNODA/TreatyStatus.n...

article 2 of the NPT makes acquiring nuclear weapons illegal, this article applies to 185 countries who have signed and ratified this treaty. article 3 mandates the IAEA to oversee this process and the director general reports to the UN security council

    Article II

Each non-nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty undertakes not to receive the transfer from any transferor whatsoever of nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices or of control over such weapons or explosive devices directly, or indirectly; not to manufacture or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices; and not to seek or receive any assistance in the manufacture of nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices

iran is a member of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty, Iran signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in 1968 and ratified it in 1970, making Iran's nuclear program subject to IAEA verification. this treaty is legally binding. iran also signed the text of the agreement between iran and the agency for the application of safeguards in connection with the treaty on the non proliferation of nuclear weapons. this agreement entered force on may 15 1974

    http://www.iaea.org/Publications/Documents/Infcirc...

Opened for signature in 1968, the Treaty entered into force in 1970. On 11 May 1995, the Treaty was extended indefinitely. A total of 190 parties have joined the Treaty. More countries have ratified the NPT than any other arms limitation and disarmament agreement.

this treaty recognizes 5 nuclear powers china, france, russia, america, and the uk. these countries all had nuclear weapons when this treaty came into force. nuclear powers are covered under article 1 and 6 of the NPT

israel, india, and pakistan never signed or ratified this treaty and are not bound by it, they do not have to submit to IAEA inspectors. and have no obligations under the NPT

north korea acceded from this treaty, which is disputed by the IAEA, the UN security council and north korea, since the 90 days required was not given. there are also 8 UN security council resolutions against its nuclear program.

from the current director general of the IAEA and UN

The issue has been of international concern since the discovery in 2003 that Iran had concealed its nuclear activities for 18 years in breach of its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)

    http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=37697...

    17 November 2011 –

The head of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said today there is credible information that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon and called on the country to agree to a visit by a high-level team to clarify the nature of its nuclear programme

Step one would have been to stop enriching uranium at 3.5 - 5 %. Had they stopped enrichment and started making Uranium metal out of the Hex, the only use for that material would be as fuel for a commercial reactor.

But they continued enrichment to greater than 20% that has been documented. One sample was found enriched to 27%. There is no commercial or experimental purpose to be served by enriching Uranium to that level.

The claim that it is for use a fuel for a medical research reactor in Tehran is patently false for two reasons.

Iran does not have the technology to make acceptable core segments for the reactor.

The reactor only requires 20% enrichment

Enrichment of Uranium is a very expensive, very exacting process. The end product is truly more valuable than gold.

You do not spend that kind of money without a purpose.

The only use for material enriched to greater than 20% is a bomb

What can they do now? - turn over all highly enriched material for an equivalent amount of 3.5% enriched material and shut down the enrichment facilities.

    Nothing less means a thing

They cannot prove something that is a lie. There is too much evidence pointing at Iran trying to develop nuclear weapons for other reasons... like giving them to someone to use, or using them themselves to ''try'' and blow countries off the map. Any country that threatens others like Iran has, is not trying to make nuclear weapons for ''peaceful'' purposes. No one who threatens other countries need to be anywhere near nuclear weapons, especially muslim extremists, persian or not.

They will not be able to prove this and like Pandora box once it is opened it become very difficult to close. The individual who first discover nuclear would say that it is for the benefit of mankind and for peaceful purposes however, we know that this is not so.

in common words those who matter on Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny would trust that! the in common words peace it is a potential peace to the Islamic Idealist is at the same time as the packed with the international is below Sharia regulation. Then there'll be peace with a one international authorities led by their Caliphate. that is the in common words peace they see, a international void of Jews, Christians, homosexuals, lesbians, Buddhists, Astrology, song, artwork, video clips, performs, symphonies, nude women or men, with each and each of the pigs slaughtered and no individual will be allowed to have a dogs for a puppy. Then and in common words then will the upward thrust of Islam come to a end; it truly is the peace they want. until eventually then they're as below pressure as Cobra's in a Mongoose cage and they're going to locate no peace of their hearts nor body until eventually the international surrenders to Islam, by the sword or otherwise.

They really cannot effectively prove it.

Even if they develop nuclear power plants and other peaceful uses, they could still be engineering weapons behind the curtains.

It would not matter if they did reveal their underground faciities and all their secrets and technology. The U.S. and Israel would not accept it. Iran is a sovereign country.

Ahmadinejad when running for election says certain things for the benefit of his constituents, but they are not as crazy as what was said by the Republican candidates in the U.S. running for President.
