My apartment??? (more info below please help)?

Ok so they have a rule where guests can't stay no longer then 2 weeks. Well, my moms going through financial problems so I'm letting her stay with me. Anyway they have a parking area for residents and then a visitors parking area. Anyway, I call the office to ask what I would need to do to have a guest stay longer then 2 weeks since she will be staying until july 28th and all he wanted was my moms license plate number so I gave it to him and he said he made a note under my apartment... And that's it. Does that seem odd to you? I always pay my rent on time and have no noise disturbance complaints. I'm a pretty good tenant..

Update:

I already said guests can't stay longer then 2 weeks... But when i asked him what i would have to do to have a guest stay longer then two weeks that's all he wanted...

Update 2:

Also, I meant he wanted her license plate number so her car doesn't get towed..

Are family guests? Can your mom be listed on the apartment lease as an approved guest? Its a bit like getting married? Do "friends " romantically involved create "issues"?

You should of asked what the policy is for guests staying longer than what the lease allows. And yes...it does seem odd.
