Formerly Sued Tenant has filed Bankruptcy?
My WV tenant moved out early breaking the lease, but were also in arrears for missed payments. I obtained a court's judgement against them, so it's on record that they owe me $5000. Since then, they filed bankruptcy. I know she's broke from the housing crush, and her husband is a complete idiot that blew all their savings. I spoke with her lawyer, but he's not allowed to say anything to me.
So, what can I legally do, what is the process to follow, and/or what is my best course of action?
(I was hoping to sell the judgement to a collections agency for 50%, now I'm hoping to get 10%.)
"Leaving them alone" is not an option. I run a business, not a charity.
(I do have a charity, but this one isn't it.)

Bankruptcy wipes out all debts no matter when they occurred, you have no recourse to collect anything, everything you won in court is dismissed

bankruptcy won't cancel a pre-existing judgement, but there's little chance you'll receive any payments for the next several years, as they'll already have a super crappy credit record with the bankruptcy on there.
