How are simplexes used in quantum or quantum gravity theories?

I know they are used in Loop Gravity.

Update:

I know what simplexes are. I want to know about their applications to quantum physics.

I need more than a link to a wiki site can tell me.

Yahoo!Answers is not the place to illustrate simplexes.

Look them up here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causal_dynamical_tria... much as I don't think you have the background to understand any of it, but so it goes ......

    EDIT:

If you have enough background, this wiki site is more than sufficient.

so i guess you looked up smart alec's wikilink !

    heres what i think ....

its essentially how video game processors solve problem of depicting 3D polygons by "factorizing" them into triangular elements ( the simplest polygon ).

the greater the detail, the more polygons ( or simplexes ) are needed.

in the newest models of quantum gravity, the number of polygons ( or rather the number of multi- dimensional simplexes ) needed to describe spacetime varies with size of the spacetime being considered. near planck scales, this can collapse to only 2 dimensions while at larger cosmological scales it can be 4 dimensions or more.

so long as causality is maintained, the dimensional quality of these simplexes can change.

i believe these new theories will be the rage because they are adaptable like our minds and allow for change in a scientifically accurate setting.

ultimately, science always changes to metaphysics becuase we must be at peace with our understanding of nature.

i dont know if this helped but i think thats you asked for !
