What are the rules for deleting questions?

I have taken time and effort to answer some very complex questions, and then the asker deletes them. That doesn't seem right. I am wondering what Yahoo's rules are for deleting questions.

I don't think there is any limitation on the asker deleting a question, as long as it hasn't gone to voting, yet. I also think it's rare for an asker to expend effort deleting a question, so would guess that when that happens, the person realized there was something very wrong with the question. Like if I asked, "What do you think Michael Jackson's next hit will be?"

The more common scenario is probably that someone was trolling with their question, and readers complained, getting the question deleted. Like if someone asks, "Why are men smarter than women?" You roll the dice answering that type, because yes, the question could get deleted.

An asker can delete their question anytime they want to before it goes to voting or is resolved. There is no rule. That is their prerogative. But, I'd like to know how you know the asked deleted it. It could have been reported and deleted for not following the guidelines - you have no way of knowing why or how it was deleted.

The asker can delete their question at anytime before it goes to voting they cannot delete any answers to their questions.
