Which surgery should I get?

I tore a tendon loose in my right elbow and have been given 2 options for surgery. They can either attempt to reattach the tendon which involves cutting a groove in the joint to prevent it from slipping or I can opt to leave the tendon alone and have the nerve thing repositioned to the center of my arm.

It is the tendon that runs right next to where your "funny bone" is at.

I don't know which surgery to get, I just want to be able to use my right hand again. Whichever surgery is best for motocross is what I want to get but my doctor couldn't give me a strait answer on which surgery would work best for me.

Anybody know which surgery is best? I don't care about feeling in my hand, I just want to be able to hold on to my bike again.

I had my elbow and shoulder done about 6 years ago by reattachment of the tendon. The elbow mended much faster with physio and took about 4 months to get back to 90%. The shoulder done at the same time took longer to get it back to about 70% of what it was previously, and it hates winter time and limited movement.

i would hold off on the surgery till you can find a doctor who is on the same page as you and gives you specific answers. A doctor who understands where you are coming from and the fact that you need to be able to hold on and also apply pressure in the grip for turns etc. Till you get a straight answer I would just see more surgeons. Doctors can be very strange about people who want to race bikes as they just do not get where they are coming from. Have had first hand experience with Doctors who just don't get it and then also good experiences with ones who do get it. It makes a whole world of difference.

I might get a moment opinion. Even for whatever as minor as that, the way in which I seem at it, any time you need to reduce into whatever must be a final motel. I do not know a lot approximately carpal tunnel, however relying on what you do this prompted it, possibly see if there is bodily healing or whatever you'll be able to do to reinforce the ones muscle tissues or whatever.
