A total stranger has contacted me on Yahoo - scam? please read?

angelebertagna601640 would like to "add you to his or her Messenger List.

Hi! Please add me to your Yahoo! Messenger contact list so we can chat. Thanks!"

I have never heard of, seen or contacted this person before. I am paranoid enough to suspect a scam. How can I find out more about the person behind this Yahoo identity: -

angelebertagna601640.

If you are real and legitimate, I apologise. You might want to answer personally outside Messenger?

Update:

Suspect it may be a spambot or that the moment I open a link, it dumps a virus on my personal details. How to tell for sure?

Update 2:

Thanks - in a dlilemma as I've had two equally good answers and i wish I could split the points. So i'll open this to a vote.

That happens all the time - they are spambots. NEVER accept a messenger request from anyone you don't know. I had to turn off messenger as every time I went online I had anywhere from 3-8 people contacting me within 5 minutes of logging in

a hundred% rip-off. there is not any interest. there is in straightforward terms a scammer attempting to thieve your problematic-earned money. the subsequent e mail would be from yet another of the scammer's pretend names and unfastened e mail addresses pretending to be the "secretary/assistant/accountant" and could call for you settle for a pretend economic enterprise deposit. Western Union and moneygram do not make useful something on the sort the sender fills out, not the call, not the line handle, not the rustic, not even the gender of the receiver, all of it capacity genuinely not something. The clerk won't situation to study identity and could merely hand off you funds to whomever walks interior the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither enterprise will tell the sender who picked up the money, at what shop region or maybe in what u . s . your money walked out the door. Neither enterprise has any variety of refund coverage, money sent is money long gone continuously. in case you google "pretend examine cashing interest", "pretend interest economic enterprise account Western Union rip-off", "money mule moneygram rip-off" or some thing comparable you will discover thousands of posts from sufferers and close to-sufferers of the variety of rip-off.

could just be a spambot that collects LIVE email adresses, and sells them in their thousands, once you click the link it will know you are a live email address, best to just delete the request or email.
