Neuroscience and Psychology Double Major excessive?

I'm a rising sophomore at University of Michigan Ann Arbor and I'm curious if double majoring in neuroscience and psychology is excessive.

They approach the brain in two different ways but I plan to go to medical school so I'd opt to choose neuroscience because of the science rigor.

Another possibility would be a Neuroscience and Spanish double major (I came in with alot of spanish credit) and I'd be able to do this as well

I'm just curious to other people's opinion, thanks!

I think a double major in neuroscience and psychology would almost be unnecessary. If you want to go to med school, stick with the neuroscience major.

I think you should go for the double major in spanish. It's something different and shows that you are well-rounded and have other interests. Plus knowing another language is a definite plus. I think majoring in Spanish could give you an edge for med school and job applications in the future.

A field where I suggest NOT double majoring is Engineering. This is one of the hardest majors and unless you plan to spend 6 years doing a double major you are not going to do well on either major. Not good enough to get into grad school. And if you take 6 years you are better off getting a single engineering degree and plus a masters. It is also not a good idea for getting into medical or law school as your GPA may end up being too low to get into medical school.

Choose the major in which you will earn the highest grades. A Spanish major concentrates on Spanish literature. If you want to learn to speak Spanish, take Spanish classes as electives so long as you earn A grades in them.
