Finally, something other than a rejection! What are you writing this glorious Friday, B&A?

Other long-term B&A peeps know I've been querying agents for my novel and today I got a request for a full manuscript! The agent posted a blog and said she got around 250 queries this week and asked 5 of them for their manuscripts. I was one of the 5! I'm so excited, especially after a handful of rejections from other agents :)

So what are you writing today, B&A? It's Friday, so are you letting yourself write something fun? Fanfiction? Are you working on a long-term project or just doodling around with some writing prompts for practice?

    That is so awesome! Congratulations!

Today I completed Camp June NaNoWriMo which feels pretty good, even though the novel is pretty darn awful. So while I am still riding on the inspiration and motivation of my achievement, I am editing a long time project I've been working on for about a year now, while also planning out a new story to keep me busy for awhile.

Ah - congratulations! I'm so happy for you! Well done!

To be honest, I didn't even read the question before clicking to answer, lol. *Reads actual question now.*

Is Friday the day where people write something fun? Did *not* know that... Lol. Anyway, I'm writing my novel. At the minute I feel (extremely envious of you) proud of myself at how far I've progressed, and I guess I'm letting myself go easy on myself because I'm normally too hard on myself.

How great was *that* sentence phrased? Lol.

I'm on holiday at the minute - technically - because I've finished all my exams and hardly have to go into school anymore. So I have all the time to write I want. There's something about being allowed to do something that makes you not want to do it, though.

However, I have been writing roughly over 1000 words a day. Ooh, when you say it like that, it actually doesn't sound that great.

But, no. I need to write today. For the first time after all that exam stress (well - I did have nine!) I feel so passionate about my book. The characters, especially.

This is such an inspiring question! I love it!

Congratulations! It's always good when someone else acknowledges a project you've been slaving away at forever :) As for me, I'm just writing for fun. It's basically a story I've been working on since the early nineties, but it has now become something very different than how it started out, though the basic characters are pretty much the same.

That's further than I ever got with any agent, so congratulations and good luck!

Officially, I'm continuing with the first draft of Dust & Water (Barefoot Healer volume 3). What I'll probably be doing really is dealing with comments from my critique group on an earlier chapter of that book. There weren't many, which is gratifying.

Congratulations times a billion! Maybe I'll stumble upon the book someday?(:

I have been writing a short-story for fun, but, I hope to expand it into a novel! I'm addicted to the idea that keeps ringing in my head.

Oh! How exciting! Good luck with it and don't be discouraged if your manuscript is returned. If she took the time to read it then it has potential, right?

I'm not writing at the moment. I'm one of those inspiration-based writers who cant discipline myself to sit down and write if its not in me.

Kudos! It's all about finding the right agent to represent you, not about the number of rejections you collect in your pursuit to find that agent. I hope this one is the right agent for you *crosses fingers... and toes for good measure*

Me? At the moment...I'm back to world building and researching. *sighs* I actually sat with my hubby trying to brainstorm an issue in my story and I swear we must've sat there with our faces screwed up for a good hour...and we still didn't find the answer. I hate when that happens. So, I'm scheduled to finish up the details of world building and have my outline completely finished by August. I've already written 1/3 of the story and..let's face it...it's crapola. So I'll toss most of what I wrote and rewrite based on the outline.

Anyway, good luck doll. I hope this agent has a magical experience reading your story and I hope all of your effort pays off. All my best :)

    Yay! Congratulations! :D

Today, I'm working on several long-term projects and hopefully taking a trip to the bookstore. *crosses fingers*

    Hey Wombat, that's wonderful!

Today I'm writing the index to somebody else's nonfiction book. Hey, it pays the rent. And the book is actually interesting.
