am i a victim of identity theft?

i'm 15 and have had letters sent to me (in my name) saying i have been claiming disability living allowance, at first i thought it was a mix up because my sister is entitled to disability living allowance, but when my mum rang up they started saying that it's not a mix up and that i have been claiming for almost 6 months. i don't know how this can be because i'm not disabled, i don't have a bank account and im not old enough to claim money.

is someone using my name to claim money?

That is serious. You will be paying out of pocket a lot. Do yourself a favor, call it a loss, consider it a lesson learned, get a job and pay it all back. Also, I think your Mom has been falsly claiming you as disabled to collect that check. Good Luck.

Yes can be or the person whom your mom talked to about this may be a troll and just told her to wave her off

Straight off go to the organization that sends you these letters and lodge a complaint.

If this doesn't work out then go to the Police straight off, don't wait long enough.
