My friend, visiting New York City during the month of October and November is absolutely lovely as the weather has cooled down a lot, with tempatures range between 41 and 65°F (5 to 18°C), and the air is crisper.
In addition, you will be avoiding the summer crowds when you visit the city in the fall.
Make sure you pack a few sweaters and a warm jacket when you visit here during this time of the year.
I hope this information is very helpful.
Good luck

That time of year, it's pretty moderate. NYC is similar to Philly or D.C. if you're familiar with those cities. It's not too cold and not too warm. According to the National Weather Service, normal daytime highs are in the mid 60's for mid October and they are in the upper 50's by early November. Overnight lows are usually in the low 50's in mid October and mid 40's by early November. Daytime temperatures in mid to late October usually range from the low 50's to the mid 70's. In early November, daytime temperatures can be anywhere from the 40's to mid 60's. It does rain on occasion but not as much as it does in other parts of the year. Snow only happens on the rarest of occasions and the most you would see is a few tenths of an inch if it snows at all.

October is quite nice. The air is crisp, but not cold. You don't have to wear a heavy coat and can often get away with just a sweater or denim jacket. It's a great time to visit and my favorite time of year.
And, contrary to what "nycgirl" a.k.a. "Jennifer" said, it is most definitely NOT colder in October than November. This makes no sense. It doesn't get warmer later in the year, it gets colder! I almost feel embarrassed for her at this point.

it's probably in the low 60's or middle 50's during the day and at night 50's to 40's. Depending on the week. Some weeks are really cold and some are nicer.
