How to uninstall Windows Defebder?
Last three days I have migrated to Windows 7 (from Win XP).
There is Windows Defender installed in the Laptop but not visible in the "Installed Program List".
I want to uninstall Defender and install MS Security Essential. Please suggest.

In Windows XP you could uninstall Windows Defender because it consider as application that you could install but in Windows Vista and Windows 7 it is part of Windows and you could NOT unistall it. However, you could disable it.
You also mention that you are using Microsoft Security Essentials, if that is the case then Windows Defender must be off and you don't need it , because Windows Defender is Anti-Spyware and Microsoft Security Essentials is Anti-Spyware+Anti-Virus.

Windows defender is a default Anti-spyware that comes along with the Windows 7. But don't worry, when you install security essentials, it automatically turns of the windows defender. You can also manually turn it off in the options.

When you install MS Security essentials, it automatically disables Windows Defender.
So, there's no need to un-install Windows Defender, period.
And, you shouldn't try to un-install it anyway, some important system files are shared by both Apps.

I just went to control panel and clicked on windows defender and it
gave me the choice of turning it off. So I turned it off. It really does
very little good anyway.
