Can you use gouache over oil paints?

    No. The gouache needs to have it's water content abosrbed into the surface for it to settle or apply correctly, whilst oil paints need access to the air to dry thoroughly (keep in mind that for an oil paint to dray all the way it may take months, and in some cases, years.)

    I don't think they will 'take' in a permanent way, but crack and flake off when dry.
