Poisonous plant?? HELP!?
So finely after years of wanting a horse, nagging my parents and saving up my parents are looking to put a paddock in the backyard, so i can get a horse!!!! but the guy who owned our house before us had a horse and Apparently it ate some kind of grass and died, it did die, but poisonous grass?? We do have poisonous weeds but i will and do pull them out daily if we put a paddock in the backyard. Any idea what it was? And how to maintain and kill it, because I don’t want to get a horse and have it die. We live in Australia, so the weeds may be different.

Most horses know what's poisonous and whats not. They can tell by the smell of it. However, if a horse gets really hungry it may eat something that it wouldn't normally eat. That may be why the owners past horse died. Therefore, make sure it has access to plenty of safe foods....
I would, however, ask somebody to come out and check around the area you want to place your horse in. There may be something going on that none of us would ever be able to think of....

theres no poinsnes grass :) it was prob chemicals in the grass or the horse ate the weeds. just make sure you pull them out everyday, and do NOT put anything on the grass. :) congrats on getting a horse! youll have a blast with it! XD

his horse could have died for many horse reasons i would pull out the weeds to and make sure not to let your horse eat fresh mowed grass that can make then colic since horses cant throw up it makes them super sick have fun with your horse (:
