Christianity, what constututes using that title or claim if you don't follow Christ's teachings?
The doctrine of the Mormon church denies the virgin birth and the Jehovah's Witnesses deny the Holy Spirit. Can they still call themselves Christian?

The problem is that they claim they ARE following Christ's teachings, it's other sects of Christianity that have misinterpreted Scripture. That's what they claim.
Other than that, if one doesn't follow Christ's teachings, then no, they shouldn't use the title "Christian".

The doctrine of the Mormon church does not deny the virgin birth and I can point to instances in the Book of Mormon that teach the virgin birth if you like. I would appreciate you having a true understanding of my churches doctrine before you start trying to judge it. As Christ taught, "judge righteously".

It's never a good idea to demand other religions renounce their belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Who are you to decide who is Christian and who is not. Those who claim others are not Christian will find themselves answering for it at judgement day, whether the other sects are Christian or not.
The Bible calls it unrighteous judgement, only Christ should judge who is Christian and who is not!
BTW, Mormons don't deny the virgin birth, it says so right in the Book of Mormon!
Making unfounded claims on religions will also not be regarded highly by the Lord.

When I read these kinds of questions, I think that the asker must be trolling to make Evangelical Christians look bad, but then other Christians come along and join the fray in supporting the lies told and in joining in on the bashing Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses and to a lesser degree Catholics.
This "lying for Jesus", is just one of many reasons I would never become an Evangelical Christian. I know many Evangelicals are good and genuine people, but there aren't enough of the good ones calling out the bad ones like you who actively perpetuate lies about other religions in an effort to validate your own. It's one thing to say you don't like Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses. I can accept that, but to spread lies about them is a sin.
How can your kind of Christianity be the answer, when all you do is a contradiction of how Christ told us we should treat those who are different than us? You judge others, you attempt to incite a hatred of them by lying about them, you mock them, and you don't show love for those you consider to be your enemy. You hurt your religion more than you hurt ours.

Actually, Mormons (LDS) don't deny the virgin birth. I don't know where you are getting your information, but if you got that wrong about the LDS Church, I imagine you got other bad information.
From the Book of Mormon, concerning the birth of Jesus Christ:
Alma 7:10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

Mormons do not deny the virgin birth. Sounds like you have been getting your information from anti-Mormon websites. Unfortunately sources like that tend to be very unreliable. That is not at all what we believe. We believe what the Bible says - that Mary was a Virgin when Jesus was born.

Thou shalt not bear false witness.
You misstated the beliefs of THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints.
Shame on you for doing that. It's kind of a sick thing to do, and people in other countries like China and so forth who see the kind of under handed tactics that people like you use against Mormons, that does not leave a very good impression with them.
People like Mormons because they are honest because Jesus Christ commanded to be honest, and THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints teaches to be honest.
Honesty. You might try it. It might work better for you.
Repentance is the way to Jesus Christ, not dishonest disparaging hate-propaganda.

Jehovah's Witnesses have the correct understanding of the holy spirit, it is the power or active force of God that he uses to accomplish his will. It's not a person. In visions of heaven where God and Jesus are seen sitting on thrones next to each other, why isn't the holy spirit seen sitting on a throne with them? The holy spirit is never seen with either of them in any vision, why?
