your philosophical thoughts on this , economy and how to boost it?

You know in the music industry there are winners, losers and rip offs. Certainly some parts of the industry make far greater profits than others and If the industry is going to look at piracy then will they also ensure that the artists get fair royalties?

There is one huge alarm bell ringing in my ears. (I'll see the doc next week 'cos it is getting louder) Many moons ago, quite recently in a country crippled by recession (brought on by several factors) , and industry was being throttled and squeezed from all sides, two business men called Thryson and Krupp decided it would be beneficial to support an obscure yet up and coming political party as the way forward for business and the economy. The rest is a horrific chapter in Global history.

We have a global situation were corporate power is becoming bigger than governments power. Illuminati, bilderberg etc are all just smoke screens and are indeed pulling the strings of many power mad governments.

Did you know, in the Uk, HMRCS not only failed to collect over due corporate tax from several big multi national firms, but that they 'came to a deal'. The government initiated cost cutting exercises through out the uk that actually cost more to implement than the amount to be saved. In the NHS the structure is top heavy with multi tier executives and process that the service user is being left behind. Schools are being subsidised by big business, and I hear some say what is wrong with that? It means that if they go bust then schools will suffer. These are big business whose profits are stored in the caymen islands. We have seen politicians claim expenses from the tax payer that are criminal, nepotism in the name of perks not to mention nonsensical inquiry after inquiry, at the tax payers cost, only to establish what we all know anyway.

Without ranting further, there needs to be wholesale change. Those we elect are not acting in our interests and those whose off shore bank accounts we fill are having too much say in how those we vote for should act. (and no I'm not a communist). A country can not go bankrupt that would create a situation where those like thyson and krupp fund extremists and the world goes once again to war. On th face of it, fingers will point to, the banks, the financial institutions, trading markets........These are all smoke screens to allow those who do pull the strings to implement the next stage of their global plan. When a change is made at one point ina plan there will be other parts that suffer due to the change process. These will either die off or through time become part of the new process as some thing else. In Europe, doesn't any one wonder how these leaders have taken so long to agree to so much that has had so little effect on any thing? This is a smoke screen to allow the effect of change to take place. They will come up with a solution soon, as I said these will either die off or through time become part of the new process as some thing else. That's what will happen through time. The Euro situation will become some thing else as the effects of change take hold. Ministers in the EU had a meeting to decide whither Jaffa cakes were indeed cakes or biscuits! would you believe that? And the answer was........ as they are not double baked they can't be biscuits!!!! They did not have to waste money on stuff like that. So, let our elected politicians and the process of government that wastes so much get back to basics and get the economy moving again. Once more the question has to be asked, when did those such as school teachers, nurses, doctors and so on crash the stock market, leave countries bankrupt and strangle their fellow citizen with unworkable policies that do nothing for any one (is that a double negative?)

The party is over folks, its time to sober up and get a grip. Once again sprry for the rant( maybe I should rule the world............;-/ maybe not)

No, I don't agree with this bit, Frou. Sidestepping the left/right issues, I think statistically it wouldn't make a difference to the economy. Perhaps they could be more supportive of their local communities, though.

My thoughts on boosting the economy: Smaller government, get rid of the military. Yes, that's right, I'm advocating NO military for the UK, besides special forces.

Hmmm....? You want more ideas? How about scrapping or reforming the dole? I used to think the dole was great, but then when I lived in countries where they don't have it, I realised that it's basically a way for the government to step in where the family traditionally does. My main thing is small government, and government should be directly answerable to the people. As in a randomly selected group of citizens should be allowed to perform a complete audit and have a televised Q&A session in Parliament... I could go on..

The economy should be decentralised... so that it's not that everything depends on everything else. bring back an element of self-sufficiency.

The Meritocracy Party

In 2007 an anonymous group called The Meritocracy Party published its first manifesto, to which they have now added more than two million words on the subject (discussing Hegel, Rousseau, Charles Fourier, Henri de Saint-Simon and various other philosophers, scientists, reformers and revolutionaries). 6) To replace free market capitalism with social capitalism, and to replace Democracy with a fully transparent Meritocratic Republic, under a Meritocratic Constitution.

Isn't it a beauty? I see a lot of things that can won't work so well, but it's far more just than the system we have right now. You will be employed only by your merit, not from connects.

In this today system we never ask for the credentials of the president, it can be the most corrupted job in the country, because it's almost 100% based on knowing the right people

It wouldn't make a dent in this failing economy because the record industry does not employ the people they did back before digital. So, all the work is in live performance, which is a much better experience and higher rates of monetary flow. A dedicated music spot with perpetual line of bands and performers playing year round in the major cities could help. Start up bands could get a boost up there. vendors, stage hands, transport, gift shops, record shops, cafe's, bistros, ......

I think A.) that governments need to stop printing more bills than they can back up-inflation in the US has skyrocketed since the 70's. and B.) repeat A...but be prepared to give. Remember when famous people still lived in regular towns and $200,000 was what TOP baseball stars made? That money bought more. Lots more.

I'd add that we need to open factories and end war and employ people but the rise in worthless currency has whole nations sucking off the teat of their rotten currency. It must be rotting our brains because whole parts of some countries, mine included, have forgotten how to fend for themselues and instead live off the industry of poverty. That's right. Poor people need food, housing, and lots of mental help, and wouldn't you know it? Lots of entrapeneurs ready to get the grants to feed the poor bread, give them buses to travel on, sh@tty housing to liue in, and shrinks to remind them of their dignity. But these 'helpers' dont seem to mind steak, and Hondas, and subdivisions themselves lol. Thank God for shrinks, who remind us we are all equal lol.

I say we abolish inflation and let the world liue on what we really can afford to buy. It can be done. It has to be done. We have to learn to live frugally on products made as close to home as possible. Its how things we done for thousands of years. Globalization is largely unnatural to most of the world and takes advantage of the poorest. Im an American and yes I know it makes me a hypocrit in ways. Bvt parts of America got used, too. We just can't keep gnawing on dry bones, the world is credit greedy and we just need to relocalize and live frugally everywhere.

And actually in a way the rock stars have a point. Digtal stealing really does shut down factories. But yes they are also to blame for the greed culture. And yet we made them that way, with our blessings.

Don't you think music stars can make significant amounts of money without making use and reproduction of work illegal?

Why is it that we pay singers, and sport team members, massive amounts of money, but farmers and other producers of more essential things in life get short changed?

Miss((froufrou)) there are millions of dollars wasted in government programs every year. That needs to stop. Government needs to stop spending money on space junk. And the list goes on and on. Invest in family friendy companies. Just a thought
