Why is IBUPROFEN BAD FOR MY LIVER?

A few months back my doctor gave me Iburprofen for fever, but said that becareful it can be bad for your liver,,,,, we got on another subject be fore he could tell me why?

    It's only if you take too much. It's one of the side effects of anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen, Aleve, and Tyenol and the like. Too much ibuprofen causes a rise in the production of alanine aminotransferase, or ALT, which is released when liver cells are damaged or are dying.

    As long as you are not taking it in large doses for long periods of time you should be fine though.

    ibuprofen is eliminated by liver , it can be harmful for the liver if taken in high dose , because the liver have a capacity and can't eliminate the high dose of ibuprofen ...
