Is 50 Shades of Grey worth reading?

I love reading. I've read the Twilight series, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series and most recently The Book Thief. My taste in books is all over the place I pretty much will read anything. My main concern is that I have heard that these books are written poorly, and I'm not sure if I should waste my time on them. However, everyone I know is reading this series. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I read the first one. I wish I could unread it. It's not just poorly written. It's abysmal. The characters are unbelievable, a 26 year old billionaire who never works and a 22 year old virgin who's never even held hands with a man. Very cliched in naming and personality. The writing is extremely repetitive; the facial expressions, the words that come out of their mouths. Some of the phrasing is so overdone it becomes grating. The main character's expletives are the word "Holy" followed by actual curses and the word cow....over and over. In one case, in describing the blush on her face the phrase "Communist Manifesto red" is used. Eyebrows are raised, over and over. The sex is juvenile. I like erotica from time to time, but this one reads like the wet dream of a 15 year old boy. Try Surrender by Donna Storey and Rachel Bussel instead.

I know it's tempting to read. If you feel some need to read it, go ahead and give it a shot. But don't waste money on it. Check the libraries or borrow from one of those friends, or at the very least, go pick up one of the used copies that are now flooding into the used book shops in my area.

It was seriously one of the worst books I've ever read. Many who are reading it don't read very much or are too naive to realize how bad it is.

The book is repetitive throughout the story. That is the only bad thing I can say about it. It is pretty much a detailed porno. Some people are into that, others not, up to you. I like it because it's so interesting, exhilarating, mind blowing, kinda wish I was Ana to be honest :) Parts of the book are disturbing but overall 10/10. I'm on Ch. 19 and I started not even 2 days ago! I recommend to anyone into sexual thrills!

If you wish to read it, then learn it. You don't want any person's permission to do so, if you happen to feel you are mature adequate to manage the discipline matter. You recognize the basics of why some people do not handle it, so only that you may make a decision for those who don't adore it. Identical to you I read it when you consider that I used to be interested in seeing what the entire hype used to be about. I was now not fazed by using any good/dangerous or otherwise reviews of the story or writing. You've a intellect of your own as well, i am assuming. So make your own selection.
