Would you trust this website?

I want to buy Ramones converse, and I finally found them on this website:

http://www.converse-allstarstore.com/converse-mens...

I don't know if I can trust that website... To order something you need an account, and to make that account they ask for your phone #....

I've always felt nervous ordering online...

So can I trust this website? Did anyone else order converse off this website?

Oh, and if you know another place where I can buy these converse, can you please give me the link? I live in Canada, so it's got to be able to ship here...

Thanks xxx :)

One clue, companies don't allow their authorized dealers to use the trademarked brand or product names in a web site address.

Notice where you would normally deal with any delivery issues, the Contact Us page, is missing.

Usually a quick look at the domain name registration WHOIS information says a lot:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp

In this case though it just tells you that it's a 21 month old site using an obviously faked address to prevent the owner being traceable.

    He does have a blog:

Here are some large respected shoe sites:

Zappos.com (has free shipping and return shipping) did have some bad publicity after their customer database was hacked.

6pm.com ( Zappos owned clearance store)

    Onlineshoes.com

    Shoebuy.com

    Shoemetro.com

    eastbay.com (shares facilities with Footlocker)

There are forums that are dedicated to sneakers, and can be educational.

    No.

I wouldn't trust the site. It looks very amateurish.

However, understand that to order from any website, you'll need an account. And you'll need to provide a phone number. There's nothing unusual or suspicious with that.
