Howcome some of today's rappers mention Andre The Giant in their songs?

Many are mentioned, you'd be so surprised, not just rappers but even pop songs also (Five mentioned Stone Cold & Superfly Jimmy Snuka in 'Everybody Get Up'), however so many hip hop artists are HUGE WWE fans, I mean like big time.

Lots have had REGULAR mentions alongside Andre such as Ted Dibiase, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels (Listen to Asher Roth's 'Roth Boys' & his song with Cee Lo Green name checks a few), Rick Rude, Bret Hart, Rick 'The Model' Martel, Mr Perfect, Mick Foley ("Ask Mick Foley I'm not Mankind" in Tinchy Stryders Game Over), Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheik .... all these have had regular mentions by many hip hop artists bot huge artists & not so huge, the range is massive.

Andre The Giant Song

Old-school pop culture -- Andre was an incredible draw back when North America was carved up into organizational territories and was pure gold in Japan. His destruction of Chuck Wepner at Shea Stadium - the live bout before the closed-circuit Ali-Inoki match - is arguably the bridge to what is now a huge sports industry -- MMA. Too many people only see the physically battered Giant passing the torch to Hogan at WM....the back story to that point is one tremendous ride.
