Does suicide with inhalants hurt?

You would probably feel bad, as you know dying hurts (it has to if your going to pass away as dying hurts). It can happen, but I know I have tried to kill myself by inhalants when I was a teenager and all that happened with me was that I got high, had a headache, and got pneumonia once due to it, I'm sure I killed a few brain cells while I was doing it.
