My ferrets always seem bored... How can I make them happy?
I have 2 ferrets, both females. One of them is around 7 y/o but I'm not quite sure about the other female.
For some reason, they don't seem to want to play. My ferrets have tons of toys, I made them a little house, and try to play with them, but, all they seem to do is sleep and walk around my room. The one thing that they do that counts as "playing", is crawl in my pillow, because it has a hole in it (I took out some of the stuffing). My ferrets are aloud to roam free in my room, but when I go to school I put them back in their cage.
Why don't my ferrets want to play? I try to play with them but I can't get them to be exited.
Thank you :) <3

I thinks it's their age as 7 is old in ferret years, unless your other ferret is quite young? Ferrets tend to slow down after 4 years of age but a check up at the vets wont hurt just to make sure they are healthy :)

If they have got toys then they may not be bored. My ferrets used to live in a ferret nation with floor time for 3 hours a day. They went loopy for the duration of flooring time. Now they have got a 35 rectangular foot cage and get ground time for 6+ hours a day. They continuously appear worn out and lazy. Its considering that they can run and play whenever they chose. They play when Im no longer looking. Your ferrets may be doing the identical. Additionally hold in mind they sleep for 18-20 hours a day so they'll no longer be playing the whole time thay are out. Nonetheless though, lots of toys and rotating toys is good for them. You can google selfmade ferret toys but my ferrets favorites are a pillow case full of crumpled newspaper, field mazes with pop boxes, box residences, pile of clothes (avert something with small buttons or some thing that may be swallowed), socks, sneakers, plastic bags with the handles cut off and holes poked in it beneath supervision, dig box full of chindrens play sand/dust (no fertilizers or some thing brought)/shredded paper/crumpled paper/ping pong balls/long grain rice, p.C.Pipes and simply something mendacity across the condo that is ferret risk-free. I've boxes of fabric that they play in, they share the cats toys, blankets are fun to play in etc.
