why are people so scared of death?

God is why people fear death. It is the thought of whether you are on the path to heaven or hell. Of course, there's those that believe nothing even happens, which those are who usually end up in hell. Here's the thing: would you rather live eternally, with hapiness and everything you want, or burn in a fire eternally but never actually be swallowed and burned fully? Your choice. I suggest reading the Bible, for it will answer your question. God is trying to get you to just worship and follow Him, because he died for YOU to forgive your sins.

I guess they're just afraid of being apart from the ppl they love and they love their lives so they don't want to leave 'life' as for me I know that death is a natural process in life and that no one will live forever but I still would like to be with the my family as long as I can

People are afraid to die because they are afraid of the unknown, most of us don't know what happens after death. But christians, like myself, believe that you either go to heaven or hell, and people are afraid to go to hell i guess for all eternity. The thought is scary. Also, we dont get to do most things life offers us when we're dead.

i get scared of death too. i get scared because i dont want people i love, pets i love, etc.. to gone. and also i dont want to leave anything or anyone.. i dont want to die not doing the things i want to do... i want to live until i have achieved a goal or destiny.. but its not possible to do everything you want before you die because life is short

death adds meaning to life because one knows that there is only a little time to make a difference and meet one's goals.

people just have a lot of **** to do, i mean theirs too much to do in so little time, i guess people embrace life and everything that it consist of and just cant let it go in an instant. and than theres just people that had a good life and are just prepared to die.

Belief has no proof. If people knew they wear going to continue on, fear would not enter. Thoughts would alter, emotions would alter, people would alter, kind of strange we approach an alter.

What happens after we die is very unknown to us which is one reason why and secondly, having no control over it.
