No This is what I'm looking for. I apologize. I should have included this info when I posted the question. I know what it is and I know what it is used for. I do not know a source for it in The United States, Canada. I was hoping for a ***grower/producer*** in perhaps Florida or Louisana bayou country it needs a somewhat tropical atmosphere to grow. I was for hoping a grower anywhere in America. The imports are a nightmare to say the least

Abacá, Musa textilis, is a species of banana native to the Philippines, grown as a commercial crop in the Philippines, Ecuador, and Costa Rica. The fiber was originally used for making twines and ropes; now most abacá is pulped and used in a variety of specialized paper products including tea bags, filter paper and banknotes. It is classified as a hard fiber, along with coir, henequin and sisal.
