Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Has Yahoo Answers deleted any of your questions without a reason?

Have been here for several years but am now gone for good because of the above incident. Hope YA gets new management or changes their attitude.

No, and neither have you. Nothing is ever deleted for no reason. Of course, it may have been deleted for reasons you do not understand or do not like, but it is never done without reason at all. Questions that expire unanswered are automatically deleted. Questions that are reported -- whether you understand the reason for the reporting or not -- are also automatically deleted.

This is an information exchange site -- not a chat room or social site or discussion forum. Questions here must be seeking information or advice of general interest to the community. Answers must attempt to answer the question.

When you signed up to use this site, you agreed to follow the Community Guidelines here. Please read them. They are short and only take a real minute to read through. Then you'll see exactly what kind of site this is and isn't. The Guidelines are found under the ABOUT tab at the top of the page. Once you've read them, there is even a short quiz you can take that can get you 20 extra points.

Don't forget this is a user-moderated site. No one at Yahoo HQs has it in for you. Staff do not delete anything; it's your fellow Y!A users who have reported your questions.

No never, nor has anyone else. Yahoo do not delete them with or without reason. If no answers after four days the computer removes them which seems reasonable to me. If one or more trusted users report abuse the computer removes them. Yahoo have no involvement until the appeal stage so as I say the answer for me is no.

No, and as others said, nor have you.

A quick skim of your history finds many of your questions are in violation: some for chat (using Additional Details and Asker's rating to respond to answerers); and others for rant (using the question to overtly express your own opinion).

I've had questions deleted for lack of response. If no one responds w/in 7 days or something, the question goes bye-bye.
