Does having race oriented organizations or events contribute to racism or keep the feelings of racism alive?
A society without racism would see people as individuals with individual talents, strengths and weaknesses without regards to race in every aspect of life. How do organizations or events that promote or cater to a particular race affect a society trying to eliminate racism?

I don't think it necessarily enhances racism because events like all Hispanic/Black/Asian festivals tend to be for the purpose of sharing culture or having pride. It's not saying that that culture is better than any other.

Well, we can stop those Black History month or the National Hispanic Heritage Month...it does nothing but promote resentment from other ethnic groups. Have your heard of Swedish Heritage Month? Maybe a German Heritage Month?...or say Anglo/Irish Heritage Month?
In the USA, why do we have to hear instructions over the fone everytime we call a big corporation or a major government office like this: PRESS 2 FOR SPANISH...PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. Do we really need to cater to people who want to settle here but are lazy to study the English Language? If the argument was there isn't any promulgated national language, there are many Koreans and Chinese that recently migrated here to the US...so why don't we hear PRESS 2 FOR KOREAN or PRESS 3 FOR CHINESE? Because these other minorities are performing much better, and that they're more industrious, and more easily assimilable? And because they are more assimilating, yeah, just forget about them and let's not have Korean Heritage month or a Chinese Heritage month. They're willing, able and competent to learn English, so forget about them. Typical society we live in. We reward the underperformers and penalize the achievers. That's political correctness for you!
And point this out and you'll hear "Racism!" "Racism" and everybody cowers in fear under the table like there is a bombing raid going on...
So in the end, by having those special months for certain ethnic groups, we are inadvertently promoting racism, because we are focusing on minorities which needed to be pandered to, because they are definitely underperformers.
Now let's have all the TDs, and huooray for this section, because it's one big piece of a joke!

If you promote a certain ehtnic group, and by treating them as more special than another, well what can one expect. Resentment, reverse racism, hate. And these are the feelings that we want to eradicate, so it doesn't add up.

No, when groups come together because of their common culture and interests, that is natural. However when a group come together with hate in their hearts whether its directed to their own or another group of people that is what keeps racism alive. We must be willing to address the hateful group, the real racists.
