Transmission won't up-shift?
My Chrysler Cirrus V-6 won't upshift. I pulled the pan and found no metal or debri
so I put a new filter and filled with ATF+4 to proper level and it still will not upshift...
I was hoping someone had the same symptoms with a cure... Thanks in advance..
Ok now that I know it is a Chrysler and has a TCM, (Trans Control Module) so the shift is
Controlled by electronic means and unless your input is constructive please do not ans.

First thing I would look at would be the Vacuum Modulator and then line attached to it. Then I would look at the linkage and be sure it wasn't loose. Then I would call local transmission shops and see if anyone could/would give me any information over the phone.
If you are able to solve your problem that way please consider driving to the shop that helped you over the phone and give them a Big Tip!
Good luck!

It could just be a vacuum line has popped off. Did the old fluid smell burnt and was it dark? If so, it may be time for a tranny rebuild.
