Did you see Josh Beckett thrown out at 1st on a single to RF?
Carlos Beltran threw him out last night. This is the first time I have seen this play live. I think if he had hustled a little more he could have beat this out. Can't see him out of the box but he wasn't running very hard IMO.

Didn't see it, but technically it's not a single if he got thrown out at first. I've seen it happen quite a bit, and they've mostly been pitchers. Outfielders play them shallow, so when a ball is hit sharply to right, the right fielder can often throw out the baserunner at first. I have no problem with one of my pitchers not sprinting down the line on this play- after all, he gets paid to pitch, so if he pulls a hamstring running to first, he's no good to his team.

LOL, yeah he definitely did not run hard. but i am an AL fan and what happens if he blows out a hamstring or something, that would be worse for the team
