No this is not the joke trick question.
I'd like to know if YOU personally ask in a hurry (and leave out half the details)? or work it out neatly, with good spelling, all the details needed? or post txttwk from your phone?

You are supposed to ask a question to get a knowledgeable answer to a subject
you know little or nothing about.I take my time to make myself clear.
Neat, perfect spelling and to the point. This is a serious question and answer site.
It is not a chat or dating site.I may ask up to 3 questions a week.

I rarely ask questions but do a search first that way it doesn't cost you any points.I've found it best to check my spelling and ensure i've included sufficient info before posting, bad spelling can offend some members. You already know most of the info since you have posted this question. However, just above where it says ask. Type in your question then follow the prompts to select the category and submit. Ensure you put it in the correct category or you may not get all the replies which you should get. Asking a question costs you 5 points so be sure to return to pick best answer after at least an hour and you get 3 of them back. Just do what you did to post this question.

My questions tend to be spontaneous, spur-of-the-moment affairs. I don't draft them out in Word; I just type them straight into the form. I do not write long additional details and I read my questions very carefully, and double-check the category, before hitting "Submit". I prefer to give answerers their head, and allow some latitude for interpretation, as I find that being detailed and prescriptive puts people off. I think it is better not to give the impression that you already know what answer you are hoping to get. On average, in recent times, I suppose I ask a question every couple of months.

Your question has just inspired me to ask the one I've been meaning to ask for a few days now.

It's taken several years to ask all of mine, but very irregularly. I asked the first one this morning for weeks probably

Whenever I ask a question, I try to provide as many details as possible, as clearly as possible. Seems to be the best way to get good answers.
BQ: I did the math, it came out to about 1 question every 11-12 days on average. But sometimes I go months without asking.

I never ask in a hurry, always try to include all the details needed, no matter whether I ask on YC (Germany) or YA.
BQ: during all my years being registered with YC I've asked less than 1 question per year...:-)

And this is not a joke trick answer.
I have no idea. Despite the fact of being here for 7 years, I've never asked one.

I tend to type it as I think of it. Oddly enough that works out very well and I almost never need to edit with details.
Easier to ask than to answer, less second thoughts, less editing and never a regret.
I try to ask at least one a month - somewhere.
