Andy Williams has died.?
Some of you might remember him or heard your parents speak of him. Those that do remember him, which was your favorite song recorded by him? Mine was defiantly, "Moon River" from one of my favorite movies, "Breakfast at Tiffanys". He had the most beautiful eyes and voice. IMO
@Lord Lucan - Ah yes, loved the background singers "do wha do wha". Groovy! Here is the song, and forgot about it until you mentioned it. The "risque" lyrics and dancing(?) held meaning, back in the day, by our parents. Williams dances like Davy Jones.

Such a terrible loss, dear Mod. You know, one distinctly remembers the chap singing a ditty about boys watching girls while the girls are watching the boys who watch the girls go by. One found it most confusing, yet it was quite foot-tappingly good.

So sad to see this news from your input and look into the internet and se it is true.
We have lost Davy Jones so recently and these icons of my 60's childhood now make me realise how time has flown.
I was born in 1962.
The success of Moon River led to The Andy Williams Show, which ran on TV from 1962 to 1971 and for years as a Christmas special.He played on TV here in Britain well into the 1970's.
Andy Williams sang in a way that modern 'artists'...(ha ha) cannot bring...real feeling and melody,devoid of ego and fakery,and vacuous emotion.
Andy had talent and gave us joy and inspiration in his soaring voice that reached to the blue sky.

I don't have any of his track however I have 2 recollections of his songs,while I used to be a child I used to be of tuition given that I had the flu and Moon River used to be performed plenty at the radio,my mom desired the radio to the ancient field and I labored as a child for a engineering enterprise and Can;t take my eyes of you gave the impression to stick in my head,sorry to listen to of his passing.

Yeah,Moon River.I think the Osmonds got stated on his TV show.He had a pretty good Xmas special yrs.ago.He was 84.
