For the second question, get the equation of the line first. That is, solve for the gradient or slope.
gradient = (8-0)/(0-(-4)) = 2.
The equation should be of the form y = mx + b, where m is the gradient in b is the value of y when x is 0. We already have b. Look: (0,8) --> x = 0. That means, b = 8.
Equation of line = y = 2x + 8. To find out p, substitute y with -4. Then solve for x.
