Welcome to the human race. People choose what kind of people they like to be. Don't take it personally. Just focus on those that you like & have fun with them. Ignore the ugliness, easier done when you stay closer to those that are the nicer ones in the bunch.

Don't let a few rude people keep you from the rest of your family during the holidays. I have some rude in-laws, but the rest of the family is nice to be around. I just go and try my best to have limited contact with the rude and negative people in the family. We always have a great time. By cutting those few people out of your life you will also be avoiding the rest of the family that is fun to be around.

Without knowing the specifics of their behavior, it's hard to say. If it's only Christmas that you have to see them, then you have a few options. 1) Don't go. 2) Bite your tongue and avoid them. 3) Call them out on their poor behavior and tell them how uncomfortable it makes you feel. Be prepared that this could get awkward. The key to having this discussion is to do it out of love for your family and not out of anger. They may not respond well, but at the same time, it could open their eyes too.

If you want to be polite then I'd say very little and avoid them but if you don't care then it could be best to ask the advice of another family member or just tell them when to stop
