Yep. There is a growing Latino population in Texas and they tend to be liberal. Once the Democrats have Texas and California, every presidential election is in the bag for the Dems.

No. The American political system is so rigged that that there will certainly be a party called "Republican" twenty years from now. Although it is possible that it will resemble the current Republican party about as much as the conservative pro-tariff and business isolationists of the late 30s resembled the Progressive monopoly-busting Republican party of Teddy Roosevelt.
