How many years do you spend at a community college before you transfer to a 4 year university?

Usually 2. The other 2 years at a 4 year university are spent on your major.

2 years at community college doing core curriculum classes then 2 more years at the university where you focus on your major.
But to be honest most people I know take a bit longer, more like 5 years all together or even 6 if you are working while in school.
